What date is the 2007 kentucky derby, Preakness, and Belmont stakes? - belmont stakes date
About Nothing at the 1 Person to take that answer is correct, just for your information:
The Kentucky Derby is always the 1st Saturday in May
The Preakness is 2 weeks later.
The Belmont is 3 weeks after the Preakness.
Much has been said of the Triple Crown, extending outwards, can run it too much for horses 3 times in 5 weeks, especially given the 1-1/2 miles in Belmont. But hey, it will be difficult.
The current 4 weeks cycyle run for horses is relatively new. Horses would be in a week in the 70's and 80's, and would be unusual for a horse, run every 2 weeks in the 80's and 90's. Perhaps that is why horses can not win the Triple Crown today. They are not conditioned to run in 2 weeks.
